This is a review of another recording from Truthseeker which continues his instrumental mixture of doom metal, ambient, progressive and post rock with the album being self released in 2013 and called "Blue Oblivion".
The album starts out with some acoustic guitars before going into a more heavy post metal direction as well as mixing clean and heavy parts together along with some melody and solos and you can also hear elements of black metal on this record.
As the recording moves on you can hear elements of doom metal being added to the heavier parts of the music as well as adding in a small amount of sound effects and after awhile psychedelic and progressive rock influences are added into the music as well as elements of ambient while also not utilizing that sound as much as the ep and the bass guitars get powerful as the album progresses.
Truthseeker has shown a lot of progress on this ep mixing in black metal and psychedelic elements as well as cutting back on the ambient elements while also retaining his sound and there has been a lot of growth on this record.
Song themes cover darkness, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this album as well as the last song being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Truthseeker and if you are a fan of instrumental post rock, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gravity" "Ache" and "A Holographic Testament". 8 out of 10.
